The local and international scientific committees invites every colleague, SIP member or not, to submit their proposals for the XXXII Interamerican Psychology Congress to be held from June 28 to July 2, 2009.
Previous to the first regional Congress, held on October, 2004, a critically co-constructed, reflexive and participative dialogue process was held. From this process, we were able to arrive at a country’s consensus which paved the way towards the development of this Congress’s vision and mission. These were left imprinted in our Congress’s main theme: “PSYCHOLOGY: A PATH TOWARD PEACE AND DEMOCRACY".
Health and quality of life
Social violence and human rights
Gender
Political-legal constructions
Effects and consequences of poverty
Impact of natural disasters
Education, training and assessment
Organizational and laboral challenges
As follows, we present an operative description of each thematic axis, in order to facilitate comprehension, explaining how diverse areas of psychology can integrate each thematic axis.
